I am happy to open my large studio of 80m2 in the center of Utrecht for you! There is seating for up to approximately 25 people.
I can also teach a workshop on location.
The workshops I offer can be scheduled per 1,5 - 6 hours and are always arranged in consultation. See the workshop page for the different themes I have already prepared, such as a team outing painting portraits called 'Painting Our Imaginary Friends'. But a team outing painting flowers with the name 'Fantastical Florals' is also ready for you! Do you have another idea yourself? Workshops can always be customized in consultation.

Portrait painting workshop: Imaginary Friends
In this workshop, we’ll explore which ‘imaginary friends’ are hiding in our subconscious and draw and paint them on paper. You’ll learn how to warm up for a creative session, how to start a piece on paper using mixed media, and how to push through when you're in the ‘ugly’ phase of a painting.
Mixed media workshop: Fantastical Florals
In this workshop we’ll work on an expressive floral collage. We’ll start with short charcoal drawing exercises to loosen up, and then use ecoline and acrylic ink to create colourful fantasy florals. Finally, you’ll combine these different elements into an expressive collage that involves lots of playful experimentation!

We’ll discuss anything else you’d like to know and I’ll send you an invoice that reserves your date.
One week before the event I’ll send you a reminder with the time and address of the workshop and you can get creative!
Live illustration
Would you also like to receive a remembrance of your outing? I’ve been making live illustrations since ‘19 and would love to make a team-portrait of you as well. For examples, head over here.
I work from photos and will send you the illustration within 2 weeks, as I’m also the one person teaching the workshop. Let me know if you’d like me to draw you when you’re painting or if you’d like a more traditional side by side portrait.

Location
Workshops and courses will take place in my own painting studio in the center of Utrecht. You’ll be drawing and painting inbetween my own paintings so creating in a creative space is guaranteed.
In all creative workshops, embracing your work-in-progress is central, which means we leave your perfectionism outside the studio as much as possible. There is room for plenty of personal attention, and all levels are welcome, even if you haven’t touched a pencil since childhood.
Above all, my studio should feel like a safe space where you can freely experiment and also create ‘ugly’ things, as that is also part of your work-in-progress. We always work with high-quality professional materials.
Roxy van Bemmel
The workshops and courses are taught by me, Roxy van Bemmel. I have been working as an independent artist for seven years, after graduating from ArtEZ in Fashion Design in 2017. The workshops are held in my absolute dream studio, which is big, has high ceilings, and beautifully lit, where I spend almost all my days working on my art ánd my business.
In addition, I have five years of experience as a teacher at various schools, from vocational (MBO) and higher professional education (HBO) institutions to private courses in illustration and fashion. Thanks to the diversity of students I have had the pleasure of meeting, I can quickly get to the heart of what you really need.
I believe in creating a lot and also in making ugly things to progress quickly. If you want to get rid of your perfectionism, you’re at the right address!
